The selected candidate will mainly implement the customs and import / export / Transport and other local authorities (BOI) policy in the companies within its scope (country), in compliance with the legal and statutory obligations of its country. Moreover, to coordinate and manage imports Exports operations at Michelin Lanka.
The GTC manager implements and optimizes Group customs policy in accordance with the legal requirements of the host country. He or she manages the customs-BOI operational teams (Import & Exports/ Transport) as transverse or line manager and/or oversees the activities of customs’ service providers.
KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
- Act as technical matters expert (TME) on customs & BOI processes and procedures in country.
- Customs affairs and export control management for its perimeter, including the management and optimization of import / Exports customs duties/ Transport, in compliance with the regulations of the country and customs authorizations.
- Establishment and monitoring the SAFE certifications (C-TPAT, AEO) and authorizations related to special regimes to optimize the customs-BOI duties burden & activities.
- Risks identification and having them under control through the definition and implementation of action plans
- Definition and implementation of new customs flows within its scope. He works on the standardization and harmonization of processes on its perimeter (country) in order to guarantee the fluidity of operations of import export.
- Responses and communication back and forth with Customs – BOI and import Exports controls / Transport and other related authorities on behalf of Michelin Lanka Pvt. Ltd. In compliance with legal requirements.
- Ensure business continuity in country with registrations with customs and supplementary agreements related to BOI activities. Controlling customs-BOI risks & ensure custom procedures are documented & training programs are provided to import & export teams as per country requirements.
- Customs performance is continuously improved in country through streamlined and optimized processes. & Group customs strategy is implemented in the country.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Finance or equivalent from a reputed academic body.
- Preferred 7-10 years of relevant work experience in customs & imports exports operations.
- Experience in regulatory requirements (ex; BOI, Inland Revenue, Customs) for Export and import operations.
- Experience in managing a team.
- He/ She require to have demonstrated excellent leadership skills, Communication skills & Teamwork.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint, Teams).
